Elphaba, the soon-to-be "wicked" witch, embarks on a quest for self-discovery in the heartwarming Wicked film. Because of her odd skin tone, she is frequently misinterpreted and shunned by others. She later discovers how much she loves taking care of animals, which is what inspired her to meet the Wizard of Oz. Alternatively, Glinda is a popular girl who aspires to be a sorcerer. At Shiz University, she meets Elphaba, and their bond is incredibly endearing! I started crying since the song "Defying Gravity" at the end was the ideal conclusion. The program is all about acceptance, camaraderie and self-identity, despite the film's seeming shallowness.

The cast is always top-notch. Ariana Grande demonstrates both her vocal prowess and exceptional comic timing in her role as Glinda. Despite their tendency to Rex Harrison their way through their musical parts, Goldblum and Yeoh are captivating in their characters. Jonathan Bailey, who is equally captivating as the flamboyantly charismatic Fiyero, might have a breakthrough performance in this movie. However, this is Cynthia Erivo's flick. The Wicked Flixtor film is regarded seriously because to her dramatic skills. Additionally, she has a fantastic voice that is perfect for the Broadway belting that her part demands. She is what keeps this business together.
Filmmaker Jon M. Chu is renowned for his extravagant productions. That is both a strength and a weakness in this case. On the plus side, the Emerald City, the train to Oz, and Shiz University's computer-generated imagery are significantly superior to what could be produced in a live theater setting. Some of the set pieces are just stunning against these ornate backdrops. With literally hundreds of dancers participating, the large musical numbers appear even more massive here. Some of the visual effects, meanwhile, seem excessive. One of Elphaba's airborne sequences, which seemed to have been lifted directly from Harry Potter, was compared by my wife to "Superman on a broom."
